Thriving in Motion Wins IPAA Award for Excellence in the Not-for-Profit Sector 2024

Thriving in Motion has been awarded the 2025 IPAA Award for Excellence in the Not-for-Profit Sector, recognising its leadership in inclusive health promotion and youth wellbeing across Australia. The award acknowledges both measurable impact and a strong commitment to evidence-based practice, community partnership and accessible exercise programs for vulnerable young people.

In 2025 alone, Thriving in Motion delivered more than 6,400 hours of services to over 900 participants across 33 locations, supporting young people living with disability, complex health conditions, neurodivergence, mental health challenges and social disadvantage. Programs focus on building physical literacy, confidence and long-term wellbeing through tailored, research-informed exercise and education initiatives.

The recognition also reflects Thriving in Motion’s robust governance, values-driven leadership and investment in staff development and continuous improvement. By combining research, practical delivery and person-centred design, the organisation continues to address a critical gap in inclusive preventative health services while setting a national benchmark for youth engagement and community impact.
