News Update: March 2026

Thriving in Motion to Open Dedicated Inclusive Exercise Facility for Young People + Familes

In March 2026, Thriving in Motion will open its first purpose-designed exercise facility in Western Australia, marking a major milestone in expanding movement services for children, young people and families in WA.

For 15 years, Thriving in Motion has delivered inclusive movement and therapeutic exercise programs for young people who face barriers to participating in sport and physical activity. This includes children and teens living with disability, chronic illness, neurodivergence, gender diversity and complex physical or mental health challenges.

Too often, exclusion from sport or physical education is driven by systemic barriers, environments not designed inclusively, limited funding pathways, and insufficient understanding of diverse sensory, social and health needs. Thriving in Motion was established to address these gaps through evidence-informed, person-centred exercise programs.

A Purpose-Designed Inclusive Exercise Facility in WA

The new facility will provide:

  • Purpose-designed inclusive movement spaces

  • Sensory-considered environments supporting neurodivergent young people

  • Community-based therapeutic exercise programs delivered by qualified exercise professionals

  • Expanded access for families across Western Australia

This dedicated Thriving in Motion facility will increase service capacity, reduce waitlists and strengthen support for vulnerable and disadvantaged young people. Most importantly, it will create a safe space where children can build confidence, develop physical literacy and experience belonging through positive movement.

Over the coming months, opportunities will be shared for community members, donors and corporate partners to support the launch of this inclusive children’s exercise and therapeutic movement centre in 2026.

Together, we can ensure more young people across Western Australia don’t just participate, they thrive.
